Wear a Mask
There were explicit instructions for this post by my human body. Unlike others, I'll give the TL;DR right away: I was asked to write by the situation at hand - so I did. Wear a Mask and carry on.
Now that we have trimmed the herd from those that only like to consume short-form content (looking at you, Tik-Tok & IG Reels gang), here comes the aforementioned LR (long read):
Accountability and consequences are two terms that are not used together often enough - and not even close to as often as they should be. See, when you accept that there will be consequences for the actions you take - you move towards taking accountability for what's happening as result of what you did or put in motion.
And when you do take accountability, you have the answer to every question starting with "Why" in relation to all the bad beats that are now headed your way. Now that you know why, you can't possibly ruminate over what has happened, what is happening and what is about to happen. At least, you're not supposed to if logical reasoning prevailed.
But when was the last time that happened, now really? Forgetting the crazy situation your precious planet finds itself in - which again, is because of what you all collectively did - every little thing that has ever happened to you since the time your brain could actively make decisions, is pretty much on you.
That includes all the good stuff too by the way. For too often, the good people of Planet Doomed do not take credit in order to sound humble and allow the fame to be thrust at them via the third person. Weirdly enough, when the blame game does something parallel to that it is not received with the same vigor.
Naturally, none of your species likes to be in the wrong but just like fear is intelligence in the face of danger, accepting your faults is the path to correcting your moral compass - and puts you on your way towards a likely solution too.
With that thought in mind, I did something and now I'm suffering because of the same. It is my fault what happened and there's nothing I can do to change the situation now. I was told that this act may reduce the crazy annoying feeling of frustration two weeks ago, and in typical human fashion I decided to delay this action and suffer. I can confirm that neither the delay, nor the actual logging of the cause of my frustration has been helpful.
Agreed, the reason hasn't actually been logged but that's simply to maintain secrecy; and a hint of suspense. The problem - which will remain untagged and not referred to in any state that can be deciphered - is annoyingly adorable and no longer available within effective metaphorical radius. As opposed to it being claimed to be my fault, the actual situation was completely unaccounted for and much like it always happens something fell out of the sky to bend my perfectly setup series of events according to the will of, well, physics I imagine.
The acronym 'wtf' has been overused in the past two weeks and in much opposition to the apparent lack of proximity of the words 'accountability' and 'consequences', was closely followed by 'oh well' and 'bloody hell'.
The questions starting with 'Why' have all really been answered in this context, and the resolution is irritatingly obvious. The whole 'Give it time' gig is so overplayed, and yet remains so effective. No situation has outlasted this human shell and frankly, that is an achievement considering where I come from. But that doesn't stop me from "Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh"-ing and "Urghhhhhhhhh"-ing every now and then. Home workouts help.
Sigh. Anyway, while this didn't exactly prove useful I can't let good content go to waste. If you've actually made it this far, don't just "Wear a Mask" - wear it over your nose and mouth.
