Yes, that is a question mark. Or atleast that’s what we call it. Much like everything else, we have a name or designation to every design our hands are capable of making. That is, of course, after we have truly understood the meaning of said mark or design. But yes, there are many cases when these signs are not so simple to assign meaning to; which is where the true sense of human imagination is called upon.
Among the many meanings and deduction of the question mark is one of incompleteness. You see, there is a need or want for information in the sentence where it is seen. Any question, is either want of confirmation of the information provided or want of new or unknown facts that may aid the questioner.

Results from making a query are briefly two:
1) The answer completes you.(Satisfies your need for data)
2) It leaves you more incomplete & confused.(Exhibit A: Asking your doubts to your least favorite teacher)
Of course, there is a popular alternative of “somewhere in between” which neither helps the questioner nor really gives him a ragged feeling. You tend to ask meaningless questions just to pass the time with people you are uncomfortable with, and bam- you have gotten yourself a meaningless answer, not really aiding your comfort levels. Anyway, what follows when you’re not exactly satisfied with an answer is mostly explained with the F word (See: Any math problem you were not able to solve even after plucking out most of your hair). That is to say, either you use it in an encouraging manner saying, “Duck you, I’ll solve you anyway!” or you go about the road mostly taken, “Duck it, not worth my time.” Personally, the latter is the one that mostly give you peace. The first one is for those world changers. It’s best to leave them be.

Both approaches have their similarities, seeing as they arise from the same root the-inadequacy of a proper response to one’s question. And much like the films where the hero and villain of the story have same parentage, these two are intertwined throughout life’s journey. For every person who goes with the first alternative, there will be more than one other who chooses the second one. That is simply to say that we might have people to ask the right questions, but there is no guarantee they will find the right answers.
Not every story is black or white. Not every answer is right or wrong. Not every question has a tick or cross in front of it. There are more than 50 shades of grey, and the number of absolute whites and blacks are much, much less.

It is going to be rather easy to relate this to the topic of who takes the hard road and who takes the easy one, but that is not where this is going. The focus here is on what happens after you don’t get any sort of solution to the problem that you are facing (Real world problems, not the textbook ones). Take the mystery of our universe for example; we humans have long given up on any real search for life outside our realms, even though we keep sending ill-equipped robots out into space. And fair enough, we simply are not advanced enough to take on travels of light year distances. Much like that, all of us need to sit down and start doing two simple things: Accepting the truth & making truthful expectations.
We really need to stop expecting things to come and fall down in our laps. That’s just not how life works. Even my minute existence of 20 years has taught me that if I keep sitting inside my room, waiting for the phone to ring to tell me I’m now the captain of my favorite football team, then No. The only scenario where that is a possibility is, if it is followed with a huge bucket of water being thrown at me to wake me up from a ten-day sleep.

No matter how good you do for bribing Lady Luck in your favor, it just does not work that way. And yeah, it happens. Even the religious books say, “Do good, and the world will follow”. The expectation here is that the world will follow doing good to you. You see, things happen. They just do. Most of the times, we don’t even see anything coming our way and then suddenly the whole neighborhood is singing your name. It is often said that things happen at their own time. Well, it is time we started letting things have their time. Because, if it is not going to happen for you, then it never was meant for you. And it probably would have let you down more after, than you think it already has when it does not work out for you.
Acceptance is the first step to recovery. Recovery will lead you to progress. Progress will remind you of your mistakes. Remembering them will not hinder you, but serve as the benchmark from which you will succeed. Only success will give you Satisfaction.
