Mirrors

Over the last month as the time of vacations kicked in, the word "bored" was obviously the most used word in both our conversations across social networks and chatting media. Agreed, many of us are probably out discovering various beautiful and secluded sites of our Earth where they may not be getting as bored as the rest of us who are sleeping their worries away. Our friends in the Southern hemisphere may not completely be in truce with us here, but Summer has well and truly arrived.
Quite regularly, the time of June signals an onset of ridiculously high electricity bills, an increased amount of things to repair, heat, sweat and general irritation even at the slightest thought of not having any more ideas as to what to write, or even do. 'Coz all that we really want is to be happy in our cozy comfort zones and so help us God, far, far away from the Sun's yearly present of superheat.

Amongst all these annual incoming gifts of Summer, we rarely notice the vast amount of light that is bestowed upon all of us during this time. You see, amid all our irritable behavior and constant cribbing as to "Oh God, it's so HOT!" we miss the little things which make summer the most called upon season. Obviously, no one really likes the heat at glaring degrees of 40 and above. But there a fair few positives of the rising mercury.
For example, how many of complain that we become too lazy in the cold weather? That we are simply too much in love with our beds that its them holding us on to the Earth, and not gravity? In summers, one click of the button, and Voila! Your AC is off and so is your bottom off your bed.
In many ways, summer time is a very good and efficient teacher. It is strict in getting us to quickly complete our daily work just so we can relax in our homes. It gives us a longer day and thus more working time to complete god knows how many assignments of work we have procrastinated upon. And even better, how long can you delay your work onto the next day, when you know its going to be just as long and probably hotter than the previous one?

And just like that, the excess rays of light entering our atmosphere this time of every year, behave like invisible mirrors, which we don't notice, well, ever. You see, the heat reminds you of all the work you say you will complete but you don't. It ticks your brain about all the promises you made which you don't keep. And the worst part among all this is the fact that you lie to yourself more than anyone else. And this where, every year, with the help of our dear Sun, our brain manages to say "Boo you! Get it done, you lazy Arse!" and we listen.
For it is quite simple, you can always look away when someone tries to correct you. You can simply deny anyone's theory about how a certain deed you do is doing more harm than good. You can even pretend to be this daring fellow when someone says "Look out" and you don't; when simultaneously you're absolutely terrified about what it may be heading your way. But what about when a song won't stop harassing your head? What about when you only see the unwanted consequences of not doing something you promised you would? Or how about "someone" who is everywhere you look? What do you think is projecting these images in front of you?
The brain has many way to show you what you don't want to see. And it also has the power to utilize just about anything present in our world. And with the super influx of such light waves, its candyland for it.

You can lie to yourself, my friends. But for how long? Slowly, but surely, the mirrors infront of you will project images so real, you will be forced to take action. And although that might not be a bad thing for all us lazy types, but sometimes its better to look yourself in the eye and say "Just did it. Now Shut up."

Believe me, its a good feeling.
